Soaked tobacco, wine, and ink reveal three habits of the artist: self-induced anxiety, smoking, and inebriation. The suspended images, within the vases, are full body self-portraits of Alexandra Rose enacting those habits that they most struggle to contain. During the course of the month-long installation, the liquids both soaked into the figure and dried out in rings revealing the ways in which that habit affects the body. There was an olfactory component in addition to the ephemeral aspect of the artwork as the wine and tobacco grew ripe and pungent with decay.
