This series, set in the industrial landscape of a historic blast furnace, explores the intersection of identity, labor, and time. As a gender-fluid individual working in a space traditionally occupied by cisgender men, my presence challenges conventional narratives of industry and masculinity. Through cyanotype images, I make visible queer bodies, like mine, in places they’ve often been excluded. The blue tones reflect both the physicality of the workspace and the fleeting nature of my time here. Just as those before me moved through this space, contributing to its history, I too am a visitor—performing labor but never fully belonging. These images reflect my personal experience and a broader meditation on the inclusion of queer identities in industrial labor histories, challenging the binaries that have defined these spaces.
