2016
The act of photographing someone outside of the self is an inherently collaborative effort. Here the photographed person is able to share their experience in a moment of cathartic release, and the camera and operator are there to bear witness. It is a synthesis of the artists' knowledge and the sitter's need to make the images. Alexandra Rose's own use of self-portraiture has brought them to a deeper appreciation for the diversity of experiences that occur within each and every individual, and they hope to further work with people to enable them to tell their own unique stories.
